Rita Ellis, 89, of Chester, formerly of Long Beach, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Born on September 22, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Lang DiPaola. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Ellis Sr.; daughter in-law, Marlene T. Ellis; granddaughter, Marianne Therese Ellis; and a brother, Louis DiPaola. Mrs. Ellis was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she enjoyed playing Dominos, the Catholic Daughters, the Rosary Alter Society, and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara LaRue and husband, Robert of New York, Bob Ellis and wife, Janice of Midlothian; four granddaughters, Danielle, Dawn, Kim, Toni; six great-grandchildren, Carissa, Nicolette, Jolene, Ryann, Kayla, Jake; one great-great-grandson, Sean; sister, Marie Wilson and husband, George; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway South Chesterfield, Virginia 23834, with Father Danny Cogut as Celebrant. Committal services will follow in St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
