Condolence: I met Chiquita in the high school chorus. She was such a good friend. Just seeing her smile would brighten my day! She loved to joke around and always made me laugh. She had a nickname for me -- sure wish I could remember what it was. Years after high school, I was visiting my mother in Colonial Heights, went for a walk and I hear this loud voice calling that nickname! I could not believe that she remembered after all those years. Praying for her family and friends.

Condolence: I have know Chiquita since I was about 7 years old. She lived right behind me. I always remember her as taking care of anyone who was bullied. And yes, I remember the Godfather Lounge and always going up and listening to her sing. She had such a beautiful voice. I remember when she went to Nashville to cut her record. She was so excited!! As was I!! I have loved catching up thru FaceBook and watching her posts. Every once in a while we'd reach out to each other just to say 'hi'...Hugs and prayers to her family. I'm sure she will be missed by all. I'll be listening for your voice Chiquita!! RIP!

Condolence: Chiquita and my sister, Cherrill, grew up on Woodlawn Avenue in Colonial Heights. Cherrill was closer to Chiquita in age and they became good friends. I lost touch with Chiquita over the years but reconnected with her via Facebook. I was shocked and saddened to learn that she passed away. Chiquita was a free, spirit with a heart of gold. My thoughts and prayers go out to her children and family. Rest in peace, Chiquita.
