Obituary for Clarence Aubrey Beatley Jr.


Clarence Aubrey Beatley Jr., 90, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at the Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Richmond, Virginia. Born on July 3, 1926 to the late Sarah and Clarence Aubrey Beatley Sr., Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Margaret Alice Beatley; his brother, William “Pete” Beatley; and a grandson, baby Thomas Carroll. A U.S. Navy veteran and Civil Service Engineer, Clarence was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Darrell Kim Beatley (Kim), Janice Andrews, Peggy Blake (Rick), and Cheryl Beville (David); grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Kristen, Michelle, Shawn, Steven, Korey, Courtney, Noel, Rick, Matthew, Katie, Chris and Justin; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Allie, Avery, Owen, Graham, Caroline, Cole, Kaitlin and Khloe; three soon-to-be born great-grandchildren, Luke Daniel, Aubrey Louella, and one who is yet to be named; his sister, Edith Metzler (Bill); sister-in-law, Shirley Beatley and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Justin D. Beville officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Ave, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
