Obituary for Ewell T. and Charlene L. Alderman

Ewell T. and Charlene L. Alderman
Ewell T. and Charlene L. Alderman, both 51, went to be with their Lord and Savior together on Friday, May 19, 2017. Ewell Thomas Alderman Jr. was born on June 26, 1965 to the late Ewell Thomas Alderman Sr. and Margie Louise Alderman. Charlene Leslie Alderman was born July 2, 1965 to William F. and Charlotte F. Sheffield, and was preceded in death by her sister, Angel Puleo.

Charlene absolutely loved everything about the beach, as it was a place she found solace in. She had a passion for participating and organizing the school bus rodeo, which she actually won many times throughout her career as a State Certified Bus Driver Trainer for Chesterfield County Public School Transportation Department. As a licensed cosmetologist, she loved cutting people’s hair for many years. She had an affinity for making others happy, while never expecting anything in return.

Ewell was an avid outdoorsman, devoting much of his time to his love of hunting. For over 35 years, he served his community as a Master HVAC Technician and gasfitter. He was an amazing cook, and a loving and caring man to his family. He was a past Master of the Prince George Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Shriners organization.

Though their passing was unexpected, they both leave their handprints on this world as individuals, but their true love and passions were God, each other, their beautiful children, and perfect grandchildren.

They are both survived by their loving children, Ewell Thomas Alderman III and his wife, Jessica, and Jessica Ashley Weaver and her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Faith Alderman, Kyleigh Weaver, Tristyn Alderman, Ewell Thomas “TJ” Alderman IV, Brian Joseph Weaver Jr. and Taryn Alderman; furry-four legged children, Stitches and Cotton; parents, William F. and Charlotte F. Sheffield; siblings, Ann Harrell, Cheryl Bowers, Stacy Radcliff, Rebecca Jarman, Billy Sheffield and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Enon Baptist Church, 13607 N. Enon Church Road, Chester, Virginia 23836, with the Reverend Ricky Lack officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2017, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
