Obituary for Thomas Glenn Hutson

Thomas Glenn Hutson, 77, of Colonial Heights passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at his residence. Born April 18, 1940, he was the son of the late George S. and Elsie M. Hutson and was also preceded in death by his siblings, George B. Hutson and Elsie Reese. Tommy had a very strong personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. After 20 years of service as a machinist, he retired from Brown and Williamson, where he enjoyed playing on the company softball team. He also worked for Colonial Webb Mechanical, where he retired as an equipment manager after 20 years, and also worked in the lawn and garden department at Walmart for 15 years. Thomas was an avid NASCAR fan, and was a master home gardener. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, June Hilary Hutson; son, Glenn Hutson; daughters, Vicki Hutson and Lindsey Hutson; grandchildren, Zachery, Amanda, Tiffany, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Justice, Jensen, Michael, Lucian, Freddy, Gabby, Lindsey June; sister, Sarah Johnson; beloved feathered companions, Chloe, Johnny, and Gypsy; and other extended family members and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends an hour before the service on Thursday from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
