Deborah L. Curia
Debbie Curia, 63, of Chester passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on February 10, 1955, and was preceded in death by her son, John D. Curia II; mother and father-in-law, Ellen and Joseph Curia. Debbie was a lifetime member of Moundsville Baptist Church in West Virginia. In 1973, she graduated from John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia. For 18 years, Debbie worked as the principal’s secretary at Colonial Heights High School, and before that she worked in the office of personnel for Dinwiddie County Schools. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, West Virginia Mountaineers, and any team her husband coached, or children played for. She was an extremely dedicated mother, who’s most important job was making sure her children were taken care of and loved unconditionally. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, John Curia; parents, Allan and Sharon Combs; daughter, Joy Curia; son, Jacob S. Curia; identical twin sister, Diana Curfman and her husband, Glen; two brothers, Bob Combs and his wife, Debbie, David Combs and his wife, Angie; and numerous nieces, nephews, “football sons”, and other extended family members. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends Friday night, March 2, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
